The Eco-Alternative Collection from Dynamic Garage Doors

At Dynamic Garage Doors, we know that having a beautiful home on an ugly planet is not what our customers want. That’s why we offer two eco-friendly options for custom garage doors that add beauty to homes while preserving and protecting the environment.

Our first eco-friendly option is faux wood. By constructing custom garage doors from various environmentally-friendly materials and then finishing them by hand with authentic wood grain patterns, we can create the look of real wood without the environmental impact of cutting down more trees. Our skilled artists can even add wood-like texture or distress the finish to give the look of vintage materials on this type of garage door.

The second eco-friendly option is reclaimed wood. Like faux wood, this enables us to create beautiful custom wood doors without cutting down a single tree. Other benefits of reclaimed wood include salvaging materials that would otherwise go to waste, and providing a 100 percent authentic wood product with tremendous character. We particularly enjoy reclaiming wood from very old structures that have a rich sense of history attached to them. We feel that this can add something special to your home and help ground a new structure in the past.

Here is a great example of a custom door we created using wood salvaged from a 100-year-old barn.

As you can see, the wood we saved from the barn has a lovely patina that simply cannot be faked. We’ve brought out its character even more by using rustic design elements including barn-like trim, speakeasy grills, and cast iron hardware.

For this next eco-alternative project, we again used reclaimed barn wood, but the result was a totally different look.

This time, we used boards with more color variation. The ocher hues bring out the subtle coloring of the surrounding stonework, while the white patches evoke the look of a quaint, white-washed French country cottage.

Just because you want to use reclaimed wood on your garage doors doesn’t mean you have to go with a rustic or old-fashioned design. For the first project, we took a minimalist approach, creating a very simple door that allows the character of the reclaimed wood to take center stage. For the second project, we added glass and steel for a fascinating contrast of old and new.
